G20 Events in Academic Year 2022-23

The Group of Twenty (G20) is a premier forum for International economic cooperation, comprising 19 countries and the European Union, representing the world's major developed and emerging economies. Presently, India holds the Presidency of G20 from 1 December 2022 to 30 November 2023 with the theme of “वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम” (One Earth, One Family, One Future). It emphasizes that colleges should undertake activities to ensure students participation to make them a part of India's G20 endeavor. With the aim to inspire and motivate as well as provide the students a good learning platform, several activities were performed at the college level under the guidance of Dr. H. P. Vankar, Head of the Physics Department and the Nodal Officer of GSC, Vankal for the G20 programme

The different activities and events were organized on different days as part of the  celebration of India’s G20 Presidency such as Essay Writing on the theme of “वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम”, Debate Competition on the topic “Is India Contributing Enough to Global Economy?”, Youth 20 (Y20), Urban 20 (U20) etc. All the Heads and visiting faculties from various departments were present in the events. Dr. Parthiv Chaudhari, Principal of Government Science College, Vankal informed students about the importance and vision of India’s G20 presidency. Dr. Hemal Vankar made a presentation sensitizing the participants and attendees about the significance of the event and its theme. The judges of different events scrutinized the top three teams/ participants and awarded them 1st, 2nd and 3rd rank to promote active participation in G20 events. Additionally, the organizers collected feedback from the students regarding their experience and opinions on the G20 events.

Additionally, as part of the G20 events and its theme “One Earth – One Family – One Future”, the Institute organized a one-day Y20 and U20 Talks/Awareness Program on 22^nd February 2023 There were a total 264 attendees including faculty members. Dr. Nishant Junnarkar, Head of the Microbiology Department informed students about the important of youth in India’s Y20 and U20 programs. On the basis of the event title, Dr. Hemal Vankar informed the students about the Urban 20 and Youth 20 program through the power point presentation on the following themes of Y20 and U20.
